Commercial Loan Processor Retires After 45-Year Tenure at Farm Credit

Farm Credit of the Virginias (FCV), a regional lending cooperative that serves Virginia, West Virginia and western Maryland, announced that Lisa Jones, commercial loan processor, will retire October 31, 2024 after 45 years with the Association.

Jones has called Madison County, Va. home her entire life. Upon graduation from Germanna Community College in 1979, she took a role with Farm Credit. Since then, she has held several positions, including secretary, loan assistant and finally, commercial loan processor. She has also had the opportunity to work in two branches, starting in the Warrenton branch before transferring to Culpeper, which is where she will finish her tenure, though her duties support customer-owners throughout the footprint.

Reflecting on her time at Farm Credit, Jones shared, “I am proud of the dedication and support that Farm Credit gives the agricultural community and young producers, helping to make their dreams become a reality.” She continued, “I have enjoyed working with the wonderful people at Farm Credit over the years. I treasure the relationships I have made and they will always hold a special place in my heart.”

Karen Wilcher, loan operations supervisor, shared, “Lisa has been a pillar of the Farm Credit team for more than four decades, and we are appreciative of all of her contributions to our processing team. Everyone who has had the privilege to work with Lisa will miss her knowledge, professionalism and customer-focus.”

Upon retirement, Jones plans on spending more time with family, gardening, drawing, working on home projects and traveling.
