Farm Credit Welcomes Meade as Business Service Specialist

Farm Credit of the Virginias (FCV), a lending cooperative that serves Virginia, West Virginia and western Maryland, announced that Amanda Meade has joined the Association as a business service specialist in the Abingdon branch.

Meade grew up on her grandparent’s farm in Buchanan County, where she helped out in the gardens and the hay field, worked horses, raised and processed hogs, among other chores and responsibilities. Thanks to her many fond memories of her grandparents’ farm, Meade developed a deep appreciation for agriculture at a young age. Meade and her husband now reside in Russell County, which is where her husband’s family still operates a farm.

Meade brings a diverse background and skillset to Farm Credit. After a number of years as a licensed cosmetologist, Meade served as the lead administrator for a group of cemeteries in southwest Virginia. She has also been involved with women’s and children’s ministry, church choir, the Russell County Fair and volunteer opportunities for her children’s sports and school activities.

Regarding her new position, Meade shared, “I am excited to bring my willingness to learn new skills, ability to problem solve, attention to detail, organization and effective communication to my role. I want to build trusting work relationships, grow in my knowledge of Farm Credit and agriculture, and ultimately, grow within the organization.”

Regional Sales and Lending Manager, Chris Frazier, said, “We are glad Amanda has joined the Farm Credit team in Abingdon. Her experience will contribute to her success, and I look forward to watching her develop in her new role.”

Outside of work, Meade’s family keeps her busy with a variety of sports, church and outdoor activities. She and her husband four sons ranging in age from five to fifteen. Meade also enjoys cooking, baking, coordinating special events and helping with hair and makeup at those events.
